About us

The idea for The Equine Rug Wash came from my attempts to wash and repair my own horses rugs at home. It soon became clear that domestic washing and sewing machines couldn't do the job! 

With two horses who love rolling and pulling each other's rugs to pieces and two dogs who love water I have plenty of experience of wet, muddy and torn rugs, blankets and coats.

All rugs are washed in a commercial washing machine using Nikwax products. Reproofing is done in a separate cycle. Rugs are then air dried or dried on our rug drier in order to maintain their size and shape.

Repairs are carried out using our industrial sewing machine. Basic fabric colours (navy, red, black and dark green) are kept in stock but we are happy to order in other colours as necessary for your repair.

A collection/delivery charge is applied outside these areas.
